Health Counseling for Everyone


By focusing on such aspects of your health and well-being as optimal weight, reducing food cravings, increasing sleep, and maximizing energy, I will tailor my advice to you as an individual, to your specific and personal needs and realities. It’s a core belief of my practice: everyone is unique, and I won’t just hand you one-size-fits-all, cookie-cutter responses. We’ll develop, together, a  health and wellness counseling plan that accounts for what you need to do, based on how your body works, and the habits, good and bad, that you’re currently living with. We’ll “peel the onion,” one layer at a time, and you will see improvement, whether you’re dealing with chronic illness, weight loss, or you just want to feel better.

 First, we’ll have a brief phone conversation... I can begin to understand your issues and goals. I’ll provide you with my health questionnaire and a food diary, which I’ll ask you to complete over several days or a week. It’s the platform on which we’ll build our work together.

 Then we’ll meet in person, and get right into it...

These materials “show me what’s happening”; I’ll learn about you as an individual and we’ll have a basis for understanding and discussing your patterns of eating and exercising, why you do what you’re doing with your health and diet, and we’ll design a few beginning steps for your journey to optimal health.

 In our second meeting...

...we’ll go deeper, often I like to meet at your grocery store, where we’ll walk through and take a tour, and I’ll show you the foods that will work for you, where they are, and we’ll even discuss some of the dangers of shopping and how we have to become conscious of the grocery store as a foundation for how we conceive of and process what we eat. I will also be available by e-mail to answer questions as you incorporate these changes.

 In our third and subsequent meetings, we’ll evaluate your progress...

...tweak what’s working and try to fix what isn’t, the kind of fine-tuning that’s tailored to you specifically and designed to support your efforts. For example, if we are managing a complex issue such as an elimination diet, we’ll see how you’re doing and make adjustments to your menu. Or we may be managing a new nutritional approach and need to confirm that it’s balanced with your medications. Or you might simply want encouragement and expertise as you make changes and develop new habits.

As we work together, you’ll develop a deeper understanding of the food and lifestyle choices that work best for you and implement lasting changes that will improve your energy, balance and health. We are always here for the health and wellness of adults as well as kids also. We look forward to help you.
